Day 1: Longyearbyen – Welcome aboard!
Your voyage begins at Longyearbyen port, where you'll board our elegant sailing yacht in the afternoon. Once you've settled into your cabin, you'll meet the crew and your expedition photographer, who will walk you through the week ahead. After the captain's safety briefing, everyone gathers in the saloon for a welcome dinner prepared by our chef. As we set sail, you'll have the chance to get to know your fellow explorers — and your Arctic adventure officially begins.

Day 2-7: Explore, immerse, enjoy!

Once on board, life slows down. As your phone loses signal, you begin to fall into the rhythm of nature. No two days on this trip unfold the same way — each is shaped by the weather, the wildlife, and the spirit of the group. This is exploration in its truest form, responsive and unscripted. Depending on what we encounter, we'll use either the ship or the Zodiacs to position you for the best possible photographs.

Day 8:
Back in port, a final breakfast will energize you for your departure. With enough pictures taken to fill a coffee table book, you can exchange contact details and say goodbye to your fellow adventurers.

Isley is a documentary director and cinematographer specializing in extreme environments — Arctic expeditions, open-ocean crossings, and stories of endurance at the edges of the map. She is the founder of Wild Arctic Films and splits her time between the Westfjords of Iceland and a family ranch in Montana.

Her credits include Ocean with David Attenborough and an Emmy-nominated series, with field work for National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler, Sea Shepherd, and Oceanwide. She is currently producing The Longest Row, a feature documentary on a solo unsupported row around the world.

Recommended clothing items:

For personal items, we recommend bringing:

• Duffle bag (not a hard shell suitcase)

• Backpack (around a 20-40L)

• Water bottle

• Sunscreen and lip balm

• Personal and sea sickness medication

• Toiletries, ear plugs

• Personal entertainment, i.e. book, crosswords, music

• and of course cameras

Payment terms

We will send you an invoice for this trip, a 30% deposit to secure your place is due upon booking. The remaining amount is paid three months (90 days) prior to departure, the invoice must be paid within the payment deadline.

Once the trip is confirmed, the cancellation policy stated below applies. 

Cancellations

Cancellation fees:

-Until 90 days before the activity: 25% cancellation fee of the total price

-From 90 to 61 days before the activity: fee equivalent to 50% of the total price

-60 days and under before the activity: fee equivalent to 100% of the total price.

Responsibility

The trip has a required minimum of 8 pax. 

Customer’s obligations

Participants are required to familiarize themselves with the conditions of sale before they book the activity, and sign for reading and understanding the terms of participation.

Furthermore, the participant is obliged to follow any instructions given by the organizer or the tour guides.

Customer’s Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for assessing their physical and / or mental shape compared to the tour content. They are under no circumstances allowed to bring private weapons or pyrotechnic devices on the trips. Isley Reust & Ocean Sherpa is not liable for accidents and injuries that are beyond its control.

Ocean Sherpa reserves the right to refuse admittance to a trip if the customer is a threat to safety, either for themselves or the other participants, or if the customer behaves so that he / she is a nuisance to the other participants. If the trip is delayed, changed or canceled because one or more participants do not follow the operator’s instructions, they can be held financially responsible for any additional costs.

Insurance

Customers must have a private travel insurance, including expenses in connection with any rescue operation on Svalbard.

Program change / unforeseen events

We’re used to harsh conditions… but for unforeseen events, Ocean Sherpa reserves the right to cancel or change the program until the tour starts due to force majeure, dangerous weather conditions or other events beyond the company’s control which are an obstacle to the safety of the activity. Changes like this will not affect the activity price. If the weather conditions, third parties or other circumstances cause delay or make it impossible to carry out the event as agreed, the organizer cannot be made liable for compensation. The decision whether it is safe to carry out the program is made by the captain in consultation with the guides. We will always strive to find alternative solutions within the financial framework.

If travel restrictions given by the Government occur, a full refund will be given. Contact us if that’s the case.
